Croatian shipbuilding is flying thanks to the high profile contract wins secured by the Brodosplit Shipyard. Established in 1922, the shipyard is increasingly focussing on the luxury, cruise and military vessels markets with great success. Andy Probert reports

Oceanwide Expeditions presents new advanced Polar cruise vessel HONDIUS
Oceanwide Expeditions, the leading exploratory Polar cruise company from Vlissingen, The Netherlands, is pleased to announce that construction work has started on building a brand new and innovative 180-passenger vessel for Oceanwide’s commercial activities in the Polar Regions.
Built in Croatia by shipbuilder Brodosplit, the vessel shall be available for Oceanwide’s customers as per the Arctic season in 2019.

NEWS IN PICTURES: Brodosplit builds four LNG-fuelled container ships with DNV GL class
Croatian shipbuilder Brodosplit has committed to build four LNG-powered container vessels to DNV GL class. The 2,000 TEU vessels were ordered by Brodosplit Shipping Company and are planned to be used for long-term charter. The steel cutting ceremony was celebrated in Split recently and the first of the four ships is scheduled for delivery in November 2017.
